Simon Syndicate Success...

Simon Leinster has been doing the business again although this time on his syndicate water with another superb fish weighing 25lb 8oz. Simon was at our place only last week after having some joy on our Blackcurrant & Garlic boilies with a good 25lb fish landed only the week before. This time a change in flavour to try our 'Strawberry fishmeals' was in order for a go and they proved ultimately successful as Simon slipped the net under this lovely whacker!

Ian and Ivan net nicely...

Ian Jones from Whitchurch in Shropshire spent two nights on Brasenose 1 on the Richworth Linear Complex and managed no less than 8 fish including 6 doubles and two 20's up to this stunning 26lb 4oz stunning mirror. All fish were caught using 8ft zigs with the hookbaits dipped in our PVA friendly sludge range in his own special flavour we concocted for him. Ivan Griffiths has also been into some nice fish, catching this nice 25lb 4oz common on our blackcurrant & garlic boilies just before Hawk Lake shut for the close season. Ivan had caught a few fish during the winter and this is just another cracker that found its way into his net!

Two Top Catches...

Two very recent captures are shown here, both caught on the ever-producing blackcurrant & garlic fishmeal boilies that are doing so well everywhere they are taken. Firstly here is Simon Leinster from Tern Hill (with the hat) who spent a short session on Marchamley Pool and landed a magnificent mirror carp of precisely 25lb's. Next is young James Elliot with a cracking 24lb fish which was the biggest fish out of his syndicate so far this year using the b & g freebies and a devastating snowman set-up to trick his prize! Well done guys!

Jimmy has a good day...

Jimmy Huxley went for a days fishing on a local Shropshire day ticket water and was rewarded with a new personal best fish, a lovely common of 24lb 6oz. Jimmy only began to use our boilies recently last year and has had a few good catches on many different flavours since. We here at CP are all sure a few good many more fish will end up in Jimmy's net throughout 2013...Well done!

Return to Crete is a Lumpy 62.12 ...

During a trip over to 'Crete Lakes' in France Andy Horne and fishing partner Jimmy Ellinson decided a little bagging up was in order and managed a very special session indeed. Andy completed the week with a total of 16 fish which included 5 x 40's using our 'warlock fish mix' boilies with their own secret smell concoction. Jimmy had lost the big fish known as 'lumpy' on a previous trip last year and when his rod took off this time and lumpy was actually settled in the landing net both lads were left stunned! The fish went 62lb 12oz on the scales and was the new complex record. Jimmy is still in disbelief with the capture and he had definately made amends after knowing he had lost the fish once before. A further 3 x 40's were landed by Jimmy and the boys certainly did do the business. Top angling!

Crumpy Catches Carp ...

Martin Crump from Whitchurch in Shropshire spent two nights down on a lovely Gloucestershire private gravel pit near Cirencester. Martin had only just taken up carp fishing properly in which case his previous personal best was just an 11lb common carp caught only a few weeks earlier. On the first night of his gravel pit session and fishing to some islands martin picked up a fish which snaffled a full kilo of our finest warlock fishmeal boilies flavoured with the ever-consistant blackcurrant & garlic. The fish went in the net and is pictured here as Martin's new personal best at 34lb's 8oz. What a result for the new kid on the block! Well done Crumpy lad!

French 50's ......

During a trip to Crete lakes in France Andy Horne and Craig Cosgrove had a fantastic session and reckoned our boilies were a sure winner outcatching anything else used during the week including the house bait. Loads of 30's, and 40's were to be had and pictured here are two 50's caught during the hectic action. Andy is shown (wearing glases) with a right dumpy chunk in the lake weighing precisely 50lb's and Craig is more than pleased with his awesome 57lb personal best prize that made his week. Our 'Warlock' fishmeal boilies did the trick accompanied by obviously awesome haulin' Well done boys!

Mark's PB @ Brasenose......

A 48 hour session down on Richworth Linears Brasenose 1 turned out nicely for Mark Booth from Telford. Mark fished at 120 yards to showing fish using our blackcurrant & garlic supreme pop-ups and landed this superb 33lb 10oz personal best mirror. Mark caught 8 fish in all most of which came from a spodded area at 90 yards which included 6 other doubles and a 25lb 4oz mirror all falling to our warlock fishmeal boilies and chilli-hemp.

Hawk eyed ......

Hawk Lake really took off during the back end of the lakes still in force close season with Jim Minshall, Bill Hopkins and Paul Humphreys all catching their fair share of decent fish. Jim sporting his surfers blonde locks and hippy beard shows off here two stunning commons both weighing 27lb 14oz and 27lb 2oz using our winter wonder smell in the bait...Atlantic Sea Salmon, tutti-frutti and black pepper. Bill Hopkins (the gaffer) got amongst a couple too with immense commons of 22lb 7oz and 24lb 7oz, Bill's becoming a bit of a pirate these days sporting his bandana and we are not too sure of his dress sense either looking at the lack of clothing! However one of his favourite boilies smells is old faithful 'plum & caramel' which he usually keeps to himself and has done very well on over the past few winters. Also in on the act was Paul Humphreys (in the hoodie) with a lovely mirror carp of 22lb 10oz, we dont even know which smell he caught this one on as his bait choice is a bit random just like himself!

Trip of a Lifetime......

Steve Walton and Nigel Powell from Cheshire had a fantastic trip over to France where they ended up on Lac du Der. Plumping for the ever famous 'church swim' even after being told by everyone that the area doesnt fish very well they managed to have the trip of a lifetime. 15 fish were landed which is good for the venue including a 48+ and the pictured 55lb mirror caught by Steve and the massive 81lb 5oz common caught by Nigel. The guys were absolutely over the moon with the session and mailed us back to thank us for the 62kg's of liver & garlic boilies which worked wonders accompanied by matching boilie dips and pop-ups. Incidentally, this is the largest carp yet caught on Cyprinid Products boilies and easily beats Darren Manns 70lb 5oz common the other year from Teillats. Well done boys and as you say in your email...Happy Days!

Tough Going ......

During a stint down to Orchid Lakes when the going was tough Bill Hopkins and son Jason both managed a fish each for their efforts. Bill (fishing powelley's swim) cast a single Cyprinid Products Blackcurrant & Garlic supreme pop-up hookbait to a silt channel running between weedbeds which took off the next morning with a nice mirror giving a lengthy scrap before becoming locked up in heavy weed just out from the margin. After some angle changes and steady pressure the fish began to move again and Jason netted for Bill just about the whole weedbed fish & all. The mirror looked a right old warrior and went 25lb 11oz, a cracking result!

Jason was fishing the edge of a large gravel patch (chris's bar swim) and baited heavilly with plum & caramel boilies and our own 'chilli hemp' that's been doing the business recently. The fish were on the bait but were very cagey and it was a bit of a waiting game for jason before the rod was off and a 25lb 14oz orchid stunner was in the net.

Carp Collateral Damage ......................

We can only describe the past months catch results as 'carp collateral damage' in its highest form. Ivan Griffiths managed two outstanding Hawk Lake commons of 24lb's and 25lb's (pictured here) and Will Hopkins in his last two sessions has bagged no less than seven fish including six twenties up to 27lb 4oz (also pictured). Both are using our boilies in various flavours including monster crab and orange and blackcurrant and garlic flavours. Ollie Lowe has had some recent crackers too and he is holding for the camera here another stunning 26lb 2oz common. We have heard too that Paul Humphries has blown his pb away with a 25lb common only this morning, although we havent got pics of that one. Jason Hopkins managed some action too with a 19+ linear mirror and Terry Smith and Tom Smith have been having a few from their local venue including many fish to well over 20lb's. The results have been pouring in from far and wide and with the summer months now truly gone the fish are heavily on the feed.

Alan and Animal ......................

Alan Williams has been on the famous Mangrove this year and catching a few too. Here he is holding one of the famous old mangrove lumps known as the 'Animal' at a cracking 31lb 2oz. This fish fights like a looney hence its name and was tripped up using our blackcurrant & garlic boilies in the warlock fish mix. Well done Al.

.......Paul - "Best Pic of the Month"

Also we have a lovely photograph sent in by Paul Goodwin who has enjoyed some laid back fishing in France with the family. Paul is being helped out by little Harry who seems to have caught the carpin' bug too and is the best pic of the past month sent in. Once again the 'Warlock' fishmeal boilies did the trick although we havent a clue what flavour was in the mix as we have done literally tonnes of so many combinations recently with every one proving to be a winner!!!

Paul's Octo-catch Nets First Prize @ Cyprinid Products Carp Match....

Huge congratulations go to Paul Goodwin who came in first place on the Cyprinid Products carp match held on Shropshire's 'Hawk Lake'. 21 anglers were in attendance during the match many thanks go to all for the great turnout and fantastic weekend. Paul took the lake by storm by landing no fewer than 8 fish including 7 over 20lb's. The lake in general fished very slow possibly caused by the amount of lines in the water and unfavourable weather condition, but Paul was having a red letter session down in the first bay with fish literally rolling over each other in his swim. Paul is pictured here with just one of his amazing haul.

This one weighed in at 24lb's exactly and is just one of the latest captures of the many fish Bertie has bagged this season. Jason & Ollie manage a Quickie result at Hawk ....

Jason Hopkins and Ollie Lowe have been venturing out again on Hawk Lake just doing quick overnighters. Although the lake has been fishing tough of recent weeks both the lads have had a result or two. Ollie managed to bag himself another Hawk common of precisely 25lb's and Jason managed to winkle out a stunning common too of just over 26lb's, both fish of course falling to our 'Warlock' boilies in a fruit and fish smell. Even when the lake is fishing hard these two lads seem to come up with the goods somehow. Well done!

Andy Hall managed a corker of a mirror from Marchamley Pool in the shape of this 21lb fish (with the daffodils behind) and Callum Griffiths landed two fish himself during a quick overnighter on Merrington carp fishery which included a 15lb mirror and the 20lb common pictured here both caught on our strawberry boilies (blue t-shirt).

Oxford Orchid Blooms for Will .... & Jason .... & Bill ....

An Oxford tour was definately on the cards after all the recent work put in here at Cyprinid Products and Bill Hopkins took his two sons to the well known day ticket fishery 'Orchid Lake'. A four-nighter was the session and within only half an hour after getting the rods out Bill was already was into a hard fighting mirror of 32lb 7oz. The weather was tough for the first two days with big winds and heavy rain but a change was soon to come and the fish moved in on the feed. Will Hopkins managed to net a cracking 16lb 14oz mirror and followed that up with a 24lb 4oz chunk known as the little italian from the 'new middles' swim. Jason managed a couple of doubles too whilst nothing else around the lake was coming out. On the Tuesday dinnertime Will had a howler on one of his rods and completely blew his personal best away with 'Cluster' the mirror at a staggering 34lb 11oz. He had another stunning mirror the next morning after landing a 10lb common which went 20lb 10oz. Jason was bivvied in the 'Top dug out' swim and on the morning of leaving managed another double followed by another mirror of 20lb 10oz. A cracking session we all had with some top fish from a top day ticket fishery, cheers to Marsh and all the boys down on Orchid

Boilie Boys Bag Big-uns

During the last two weeks of the close season on Hawk Lake there were some fantastic catches recorded with a few very nice fish being caught. The 'Warlock' fishmeal frozen readymade boilies were really doing the business combined with top rate angling. Pictured here are two of the Cyprinid top boys: Ivan Griffiths and Calvin Bailey. Ivan managed to bag a personal best common with this 27lb 6oz lump and Calvin was on form as usual and is looking very pleased with himself after landing this pretty 23lb 9oz mirror. Bill Escapes to the Monastry

Bill Hopkins managed to escape from the endevours of bait-making for a quick overnighter on Hawk Lake and opted to fish the Monastry Bay for the chance of a fish. At 10am the next morning the middle rod tore off and Bill was into a fine common which tipped the scales to 21lb 7oz's. The ever faithful strawberry fishmeals did the trick of which about 20 freebies had been introduced the night before followed by a 16mm bottom bait of the same on the rig. Bill explained that he had struggled to get out at all just recently because of the never-ending orders coming in so it was nice to get the chance of a quick trip and be rewarded with another nice fish on the bait.

French Fish Fancy Keith's English Strawberries

The strawberry frozen fishmeal boilies we produce here at Cyprinid Products have once again proven to be a huge success on yet another french trip. Keith Jones spent a week away in France enduring high variable winds, snow through the night time and cold frosty mornings on a session that proved to be more than fruitful. Keith fished exceptionally well and through the week landed the following: 53lb 8oz common, 51lb 8oz mirror, 40lb mirror, 37lb 15oz mirror, 36lb mirror, 35lb 4oz mirror, 27lb common, 26lb common and a catfish. The two big fish were the biggest brace of the year and only 1lb off the record and the first ever brace of 50's to have been caught from the venue. Keith informed us that our bait outfished everything else going in the lake and obviously coupled with Keith's good angling it was a session he will never forget. Here Keith is holding the big mirror that found itself nestling in the net after a hard fought fight. Well done!

Bertie Bags Longboards Trio

A single overnighter for Bertie Smith on Hawk lake turned up a trio of surprises with a hat full of stunning commons. Fishing in a swim known as 'the longboards' the first fish rattled off angrily at 9pm. Bertie managed to tame it into the net and record a weight of 26lb 2oz. 5am the next morning and another fish picked up Berties rig which turned out to be another common carp of 24lb 2oz. Whilst photographing the recently caught fish his alarm shreiked out once again and another common of 20lb 6oz was soon nestling in the net. All three fish were caught on 5 bait stringers of our 'Warlock' fishmeal boilies in a special pineapple concoction and Bertie reckons it just doesn't get better than that! 24lb 2oz

Brothers Begin Brightly @ Blakemere

At half six on a cool misty Thursday morning Steve Edwards and his brother turned up on the doorstep to pick up some bait as they were both booked onto the new local day ticket venue 'Blakemere Leisure' for a 48 hour session. I took them both to the lake which is only the other side of town from our place but a little awkward to find and left them in peace to try and catch a carp or two. Steve and his brother both caught a few lovely fish using a bed of particle spod mix, micro pellets and chopped 'Warlock' strawberry fishmeal boilies. Nothing happened on the first night for the lads but the next morning at 7.10am a lively common found its way into Steves net, quickly followed 20 minutes later by a 17lb 6oz mirror. Later that day more fish were landed ranging from 8lb's-13lb's and the last fish of the session went 19lb 10oz on the scales and is pictured here. Both the lads cant wait to get back as they loved the trip and hopefully they may come across one or two of the much larger residents that reside in the lovely Blakemere.

Cyprinid Products Carp Match is a Winner

It was that time of year again for the Cyprinid Products carp match which was held down on Shropshire's Merrington Pool. 16 anglers were present and all eager to walk away with first prize and the carp match trophy. Over the 48 hours the match fished tricky with just the odd fish being landed or lost and Telford's Mark Booth holding his own in peg 18 with an early couple of fish from the islands. Will Hopkins had a couple of small carp from peg 5 but really turned up the pressure in the last few hours on the Sunday morning. Will spodded out a bed of hempseed as a last resort to tempt the winner and bagged four fish on the bounce including the biggest fish of the match, the lovely 23lb 8oz common pictured here. Will took the biggest fish prize and first place with 88lb 8oz in total with Trog in second place and Mark Booth settling for third. A cracking weekend it was and we here at Cyprinid Products applaud all who attended and made the weekend well worth the wait. Well done boys!

Warlock Boilies for Better Bites

There has been a shed full of carp caught from Hawk Lake over the past few weeks as the carp have really been on the munch. There are really too many to list that have fallen to our 'Warlock' fishmeal boilies so a quick summary will have to suffice. Mike Kellet has landed a new personal best with a 22lb's+ common on the ever faithful strawberry flavour that we do and he was as chuffed as punch with this one. Andy Madeley has also been in the action catching numerous fish from the narrows on the 'blackcurrant & garlic' including a 24+ common, a 26+ common and the 27lb 6oz fish pictured here (with the bivvy behind him). Terry Smith has really been doing the business in the first bay catching no less than 6 carp over a weekend session from the bays famous peg 10...the biggest of Terry's fish is the 22lb 8oz common, he's pictured with the headtorch on. Ivan Griffiths also had a nice fish from peg 10 after Terry had left, bagging this lovely mirror carp at 23lb's 14oz's. There are many more that have been out but we just cant keep up with all the action...well done boys.

Bill Hopkins and his son Jason both managed a quick overnighter on Shropshire's famous venue 'Hawk Lake'. Bill fished Hawk's main pads and Jason targeted the narrows further down with sixteen takes between them including some cracking carp and a huge tench for Jason of 8lb 8oz. Bill's largest fish was a lovely 23lb 9oz mirror (the biggest of two twenties) and Jason landed no less than eight doubles up to the 17lb linear mirror shown here. All the chances came to the 'Warlock' fishmeals in Cranberry & Garlic flavour...These boilies just keep on producing the goods and the multiple catches up and down the country falling to them just goes to show they are the bait to be on.

Craig Cosgrove and Stephen Wooding both from Liverpool recently fished a 2 night session on Merrington Pool for the chance of a fish or two. Both were using our "Warlock fish mix" strawberry boilies and both had a right result with a new personal best fish each. Craig caught a cracking mirror and possibly the biggest mirror currently residing in Merrington at an awesome weight of precisely 28lb's from peg 2. Stephen's pb was a common of 20lb's 1oz from peg 1 which was also a typically lovely Merrington fish. Can't Count Carl's Catches

Carl Amery has had that many fish from Weston Park over the past couple of years using our boilies that we have given up keeping count. Carl is pictured here with a couple of the lakes finer residents from a recent session where multiple catches were again the norm. A brace of thirties were Carl's prize for his efforts along side 5 other fish over 20lb's and doubles to boot. The mirror shown is single scale at 31lb's 8oz and this was followed up with the slate grey common at 34lb's 8oz. A few years back Carl and Bill Hopkins came up with a winning formula between them with regards to attraction in the Warlock fish mix and finally settled with a pineapple smell accompanied by another flavour and two other additives that have been outstanding since first put to use. Bill's extensive knowledge with additives, attractors and flavour levels have definately been a huge benefit to those who wish to experiment with their own particular unique smells in our boilies. Time and time again this knowledge (accompanied by good angling ability) has proven the downfall of many carp from all over the country.

Will had been in his chosen swim for the night and had not caught so took a brief trip up into Hawk's Monastry Bay where he spotted a fish leap out at 70 yards range. A single strawberry Warlock fishmeal bottom bait was soon whacked to the spot and within half an hour the mirror was fooled and took off on a powerful run. Will soon had the angry mirror in the net and was over the moon to see such a lovely fish pose with him for the camera.

Terry Takes Cyprinid Carp Catching Champion @ Merrington Match

The 2009 Cyprinid Products Carp Match was once again held on Merrington pool with all the lads eager to catch a few and have a great weekend. We had 16 anglers keen to take the trophy home and this year saw the closing hours on the Sunday go down to the wire. The biggest fish was caught by Gareth Jones with a common of 21lb 12oz on the Saturday, by the Sunday morning it was a close race and anyone could have taken the prize money. Tom Smith nearly had it in the bag by landing two late fish but was beaten into 3rd place by Ivan Griffiths who also had two fish nearly on the bell. The overall winner though and this years Carp Catching Champion was Terry Smith who held strong to take the champagne, the trophy and the prize money. Well done Terry and a big thank you to Elaine for once again having us back on the lovely Merrington. Pictured is Terry with one of his winning fish...and all the lads at the cabin.

Redmire Remains Remarkable

Redmire Pool is the most historical venue of all time. Through the years such legends as Dick Walker, Jack Hilton, Chris Yates (who held the british record for ten years from Redmire) have graced the banks of this most magical of venues. Bill Hopkins was lucky enough to have a weekend trip on the lovely pool and managed to slip the net under this lovely 17lb 2oz Redmire king carp. Bill said 'the whole atmosphere down there was truly awesome and to actually fish on Redmire and catch one of its residents was a truly magical experience'. The fish fell to a mulberry & black pepper snowman topper fished as a single pop-up over a bed of small grit sized pellets and a handful of chopped up strawberry Warlock fishmeal boilies. A little work was done with the marker to find an area tight in the left margin from a swim known as the 'evening pitch' under a overhanging bush where the weed wasn't so thick and therefore fine to present a hookbait. At a quarter to five the next morning the mirror pulled the rod right round and burst off into open water before being teased back to the waiting net.

Cat Crashes BCSG party

During the British Carp Study Groups 40th anniversary celebrations on Linford Fisheries Blackhorse Lake, Bill Hopkins caught one of the lakes resident catfish. The Warlock fishmeal boilies are a great catfish puller as well as awesome carp catcher and Bill was using mulberry & black pepper flavour in the mix. The cat came in the morning over a bed of 3 kilos of 18mm boilies on a mulberry & black pepper red snowman topper fished 70 yards past two large weedbeds. Bill said the fish took off straight into thick weed but steady pressure eased the angry cat through and back to the waiting net. A great weekend was had by the BCSG and the lake was a wonderful place to fish.

Gaz Wharton 22lbs

Wonderful Warlock Start to the Season

During the opening of the season on Hawk lake there were plenty of the lads using our Warlock fishmeal boilies and they all seemed to be doing very well. Gaz Wharton has managed no less than five fish to over 25lbs using our Warlocks in 14mm mulberry & garlic flavour. Gaz is pictured here with one of his catch, a lovely 22lb mirror.

Terry Smith was on our scopex, squid and octopus halfway up the lake in a swim known as the 'drop off'. Terry firstly landed a small double for his troubles then followed that fish up with a nice mirror of 20lb 6oz from the far reedline.

Jim Minshall was set-up in the Monastry Bay and was rewarded with four fish of which two were doubles, a 23lb mirror and a new personal best 27lb common...well done Jim.

Jason Hopkins has been flitting on the lake with short overnighters and has had three twenties including the nice looking common shown here of 21lb14oz. Jim and Jason have been on the of blackcurrent & garlic flavour that was so devastating on Hawk last year.

Well done to all the lads using our boilies and other products up at Hawk...All the best and have a good season.

During the match Paul caught no less than six fish including one of the well known lumps, a stunning mirror fondly known as ET. The fish weighed 25lb's 11oz and came in awful weather conditions after snaffling the Warlock fishmeals in the blackcurrent and garlic flavour.

Mr Cyprinid Goes Common

Mr Cyprinid himself Bill Hopkins fished the opening of the new season on Hawk Lake in Shropshire. Fishing in the infamous 1st Bay, Bill banked three commons weighing 15lb's 9oz, 21lb's 5oz and 24lb's 4oz. The first two came on the Warlock fishmeal boilies in a plum and caramel flavour and the largest common couldn't resist the ever faithful strawberry flavour Warlocks. Bill presented Strawberry Crush snowman toppers on standard clip rigs using our 2oz cone bombs and 18lb daiwa sensor straight through as he was fishing a heavilly padded area. Bill said the takes were tremendous and the biggest of the three plodded under the rod tip for ages before succumbing to steady pressure.

During day only sessions Craig Hope from Whitchurch in Shropshire has recently managed to bank two stunning carp. Both fish came from a secret Welsh lake and fell to 5 bait 14mm stringers accompanied by a further 40 freebies of the same fired over the top. This is yet another good example of the Warlock fishmeals doing the business and Craig was using them in our sweet maple flavour. The common weighed in at 25lb 13oz and was followed by the mirror which tipped the scales at a personal best 27lb 1oz for a well pleased Craig.

Bertie's Big Fish Bug

Bertie Smith spent two nights on Marchamley Pool for a four fish haul that included 2 doubles a 20lb 8oz mirror and this cracking personal best 25lb 3oz common. Bertie was using our strawberry Warlock fishmeal boilies in 16mm sizes which he had robbed from his dads freezer the night before. His dad Terry was round today to tell us how his son has got the big fish bug but from now on he has to pay for his own baits...we reckon here good on the lad, just keep the fish coming and show the old man how its done.

"The fight was tremendous in the dark"

A two night session back on the Birch for Sean Lewis proved fruitful when Sean landed a very pretty common of precisely 22lb's. The fish came on the second night during a time when the lake was quite busy and therefore wasn't fishing well. Sean was trying something a little different by mixing up two different flavoured baits of our 'Warlock' frozen fishmeal boilies. He caught the common at 3.00am after baiting up with a mixture of the Strawberry flavour and Blackcurrant & Garlic flavour...Approximately 40 freebies in all and hooked the fish on a Blackcurrant & Garlic 14mm bottom bait. Sean stressed...'The fight was tremendous in the dark. The fish had me all over the place and at one point crossed my two other lines. It was a knit one, pearl one job with the rods but I managed to beat the fish in the end and was really pleased with this one'.

Gareth Jones from Whitchurch in Shropshire spent three nights on the popular Oxford venue 'Orchid Lake' where he fished in the Top Dug-out swim. Using our 'Warlock' frozen ready made fishmeal boilies in Cranberry & Garlic flavour Gareth firstly landed a 13lb 8oz mirror and quickly followed that fish up with a 15lb 10oz mirror. Soon after another mirror was engulfed in mesh which went 28lb 8oz on the scales...A proper result to say the least. The following night he was fortunate enough to land one of the many orchid 30's...a fish known as 'Daisy' at a fantastic weight of 32lb 4oz that took off with another cranberry & Garlic bottom bait at 1.00am. The following evening Gareth was stunned to follow the big mirror up with one of the lakes much sought after 30+ commons which is fondly known as 'Doris' and weighed in at a fantastic 30lb 8oz and was fooled after snaffling a snowman set-up over about 100 freebies.

Five Fish Frenzy for Hot Malayan Sausage

A recent session on Merrington Pool in Shropshire for Whitchurch local Ivan Griffiths proved fruitful with a five fish catch which included two fish over 20lbs. Ivan was using our Warlock frozen ready made boilies in a new flavour we are now doing 'Hot Malayan Sausage'. This flavour is already proving to be a winner and has scored with some very decent carp over the past couple of months. After landing a small carp of about 10lbs on his first day on the venue Ivan quickly followed it up later that night with a chunky mirror of 20lb 4oz. The next day another fish sent his alarm into a frenzy and soon a good mirror was banked and pulled the scales round to 22lb 12oz. A further two doubles were landed on Ivan's rods and when the session was over he was more than pleased.

After an early move into a swim in a quiet corner of the lake near a set of lilly pads Ian introduced small amounts of the Warlock strawberry boilies and pellets throughout the day to try and gain the interest of one or two fish that were evidently moving amongst the pads. About an hour before dark Ian had a tremendous take on the pad rod that he had walked down and dropped in over the baited area and managed to coax a hard fighting fish into the net after a tremendous battle.   Crime Watch @ Annual Mess

A total of 16 anglers took part in what was to be an enjoyable yet slightly messy weekend.

Bill said 'when the lads all turned up in the car park on the Friday it was more like a line up from "Crime Watch" although these are some of the best lads I have ever had the pleasure to fish with'.

On the Saturday night the BBQ went into the early hours and in all quite a few of the lads were only there for the weekends social.

However a few of the lads were quite competetive with Phil Madeley doing the business overall. Phil managed 82lb 6oz's of carp for his efforts on the ''warlock' strawberry fishmeals to take first place. His biggest fish of the weekend a lovely 21lb 8oz mirror (pictured).

Three big ones

During a three night stint on a Colne Valley gravel pit Bill Hopkins landed 3 fish using the Warlock fishmeal frozen readymades in the cranberry & garlic flavour. The first fish was a mid double common taken from between gravel bars at 50 yards range amongst light silkweed where the fish were showing. The second fish is the pictured 35lb 12oz mirror taken from the same area only a short while after the common was caught and on the same rod after the recast. To round the session off Bill finally landed another mirror of precisely 24lb's. All the fish were caught on Snowman set-up's with 16mm bottom baits of the cranberry & garlic and 14mm Snowman toppers in the blackcurrant & garlic flavour over the top. Bill said the fight from the big mirror was awesome as he had it on for over half an hour. It powered off early morning just after the common had been returned and bored deep between the bars and at one point picking up one of the other lines. With a little bit of 'knit one, pearl one' Bill was able to free the offending line from the action just in time to stop the powerful mirror from reaching some dangerous snags in a bay to his left. Soon it succumbed to steady pressure and was coaxed into the awaiting net.

Luke went on to then catch Hawk's amazing 'razor' common at a fantastic 31lb 12oz. The Warlock fishmeal readymades in maple flavour did the business and the big fish put up a terrific fight in the swim known as the 'roots'. Winter Fodder

A Successful Formula

A quick overnight flit around his heavy work schedule produced this magnificent 24lb 5oz mirror for Bill Hopkins. Bill said 'I have been snowed under with bait and lead orders this month and it has definitely told upon the amount of time I have had available for my own fishing. The work has really paid off though as Cyprinid Products has really taken off this year with everyone having loads of joy on the products we manufacture, especially bait-wise. The results from different lads all over the country really speak for themselves with many PB's being broken. A Cyprinid Products 'snowman topper' in the same flavour was presented to the edge of a large area of lilly pads in Hawks first bay on a free-running rig and a 1oz flat pear lead. Bill played the fish for the best part of ten minutes during a tremendous scrap before finally teasing it into the waiting net and recording a weight of precisely 23lb's.

Congratulations to Cyprinid Products Match Winner -Darren Mann !!

On the weekend of the 20th-22nd July Cyprinid Products held a singles carp match on Merrington pool of which 14 anglers were in attendance. After a torrid time of losing his first five fish Darren Mann from Whitchurch sorted the problem out and went on to take first place for largest weight of fish landed and also the biggest fish prize for a stunning 25lb common caught on the warlock fishmeal strawberry boilies. Congratulations go to Darren from us here at Cyprinid Products and thanks to all others who attended and made the weekend a great success.

Cat on the Prowl ............

Andy 'The Cat' Madeley has scored again on Merrington Pool during a quick overnighter with a 21.07 mirror. His first single overnighter produced six fish haul including a 21+ common and Andy was keen to get back on the cracking day ticket venue. From peg 15 just a few weeks after his first trip Andy fished open water using stringers of the warlock strawberry fishmeals and landed three carp and unfortunately also lost two fish. Cyprinid Products are running a carp match on Merrington later this month which became fully booked within days of releasing the info. Andy is a part of that match and we reckon here that he is getting a little practice in ready for the event. He isnt doing too bad either!

Two night Super Session !!!!!!!

Ian Jones from Llay near Wrexham spent a two night session on Merrington Pool not long after breaking his arm. The session really put him to the test in such unfortunate circumstances as Ian absolutely hauled carp for the 48 hour duration. 19 fish overall were landed 17 of which came on the second night during a massive thunderstorm after Ian had moved swim to get on fish. Pictured are two fish from his mega-haul, a 23.02 common caught using the 'Big Fish Method Mix'  and a 21.14 mirror using a PVA bag of pellets and the Warlock strawberry fishmeal boilies. Since that session Ian has also been back for a brief overnighter and caught another five fish up to 20.02. He seems to be taking the place apart!

Best by far ..........

Steve Pritchard from Whitchurch in Shropshire blew his previous personal best to pieces during a 24 hour stint on hawk lake which was only his second time on the lake after a long spell away from the carp scene. Firstly Steve landed a common of 22.08 beating his previous pb by only a few ounces then he followed that up with the pictured 27.08 common which was caught on a snowman set-up using one of our snowman toppers and free offerings of the Warlock fishmeal boilies in monster crab & garlic flavour. Cracking result Steve, well done.

5 Alive

During the begining of the season on Hawk Lake Bill Hopkins fished Hawk's main pads and landed 5 fish up to the pictured 23lb 2oz mirror. All were caught on bottom baits using the warlock fish mix frozen ready made boilies flavoured with monster crab & garlic. Over four kilos of 4mm freebies were required to maintain the action and unfortunately Bill also lost two good fish in the pads.

Seen a Ghost

This stunning looking 23lb 12oz Ghost Carp was the result of Terry Smith's continuing success on his local water. During a short overnighter Terry landed no less than seven fish in a frenzied feeding spell on the warlock fish mix. Using a new smell in the bait that he wishes to keep quiet for now (Its Spicy lads) the action was frequent right through the night as Terry's alarms sounded no less than ten times. Unfortunately three fish were lost but the ghostie was the icing on the cake after a hectic nights fishing.

Three in a Bed

A session on Merrington Pool for Darren Mann from Whitchurch proved more than fruitful when he had three fish on the Warlock Fish Mix strawberry fishmeals all of which beating his previous personal best prior to the trip. Darren caught the pictured mirror first of 19.12oz before following it up with an 18+ and then an overwhelming 21.10oz common. All three fish fell to the same rod and were landed in quick succession. Well done Darren, keep them coming.

Look What the Wind's Blown In

Hardwick/Smiths on the Oxford richworth/linear complex can be tricky at the best of times. However, during a two night session in gale force winds and driving rain in November company owner Bill Hopkins managed a brace of twenty pound mirror carp from the venue. Applying a large bed of the 'warlock' strawberry fishmeal boilies and the Mega-Blend Method/Spod Mix Bill banked firstly a 25.00 mirror just on dark and then the next morning another 20.01 mirror.

Tom & Terry's Serial Success

Terry Smith and his son Tom have been reaping the rewards for persistent time and effort on a tricky local Shropshire venue. Both Terry and Tom have had some really nice fish from the water through short sessions and hard baiting which has certainly paid off with good results. Although they have lost a few fish in the past via some unkindly resident snags in the lake, much fine tuning of rigs and careful bait presentation has produced regular action for them. Terry is pictured with a lovely mirror carp of 20lbs and Tom is shown with a stunning 23.08 common. They have fooled different fish from the venue by asking us to change the flavours and additives regularly although the base mix is always still the same warlock fish mix. Every change they have made has fooled carp in the past up to Terry's 33.08 pictured earlier on this page and the fish are certainly on the food source big time. Keep them coming lads!

During the Hawk Lake carp match in August of this year Will Hopkins managed to land this superb 24lb common carp fishing tight to the far reed line in the first bays peg 10. The fish was fooled during the early morning by a Cyprinid Products 14mm tutti-frutti pop-up fished over 3016mm warlock fish mix strawberry ready made boilies and also using our small 1oz flat pear leads.

One mans meet is another man's Poisson

Phil Madeley from Whitchurch in Shropshire had a cracking session during a weeks trip to France on cross channel carpings Les Teillatts lake. Phil managed a total of 10 catfish to 47lb and 7 carp to an amazing 54.08 mirror carp (pictured). Included in his amazing string of fish was also a lovely 48lb common. All of the fish fell to the 4oz and 3.5oz multi-facet leads from Cyprinid products which were coated in a gravel type of coating matching the lake bed from samples taken from previous trips. Phil and Andy his father who had a massive string of cats and is now called 'andy the cat' by all his mates explained that we had got the matching silt and gravel colour spot-on and after dropping the leads in the margins had a job to find them again. Of course we are only too pleased to help and are chuffed all who went during the trip had a good time and caught some stunning carp and cats.

It Gets Better and Better

Gaz Wharton from Whitchurch in Shropshire upped his personal best carp twice in to short 24 hour sessions. During a thursday overnighter on Hawk Lake Gaz managed to land a common of 26.09oz beating his current pb by over 10lbs. Following this fantastic result gaz couldnt resist another quick return to Hawk and set-up in a different swim where he felt he might be in with another chance. During the magical midnight hour Gaz had a run on one of his rods and preceded to struggle for 40 minutes with a really hard fighting fish. Once netted Gaz couldnt believe the size of the fish and lifted her onto the digital scales to record a weight of 30.11ozs. Gaz was using the Warlock Fish Mix freshly frozen boilies with maple flavour and fished a bottom bait of the same to produce the downfall of both fish. Well done gaz, keep them coming!

Jason Hopkins finally managed to land this 23lb common during a trip to farlows lake in Iver Bucks. After a torrid time which saw jason lose 6 fish in heavy weed this common was more than welcome when it went in the net. The warlock fish mix strawberry frozen boilies accounted for all of the pick-ups a couple of which were big fish that jason unfortunately lost near the net.
